8 core industries index to become 9 as government adds iron ore
The Ministry of Commerce & Industry announced the inclusion of iron ore as a core industry, expanding the Index of Core Industries (ICI) from eight to nine sectors. This change reflects iron ore's significant role in industrial production and development. The updated ICI will be released next week, coinciding with core sector growth data that recently hit a seven-month low of 0.5%.
