9 killed, houses set ablaze in fresh Manipur violence; PM Modi assures help to restore peace
At least nine people died and around 14 houses were set ablaze in renewed violence in Manipur's hill districts over 24 hours starting Friday night. The unrest followed the killing of a Kuki woman during an operation by security forces. Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh of all possible assistance to restore peace in the state.
