AI costs heat forcing vendors to rethink pricing: Pegasystems executive
Pegasystems is shifting to an outcome-based pricing model, moving away from traditional per-token billing, to control AI costs and demonstrate return on investment. Global CTO Don Schuerman highlighted that conventional token-based AI can be 10-20 times more expensive than workflow-led architectures, prompting a reevaluation of product and pricing strategies. The company aims to redesign enterprise workflows using its AI platform, Blueprint, to improve governance and predictability in AI costs, with India playing a central role in its strategy.
