AICF confirms new dates for chess nationals after GM Abhijeet flags 2026 snub
The All India Chess Federation rescheduled the senior National Chess Championship to November 29-December 9, 2026, in Varanasi. This decision followed GM Abhijeet Gupta's objection to the initially proposed March 2027 dates, citing potential conflicts with school board exams. The AICF's adjustment aims to ensure participation and retain the venue.
