Another amoebic brain fever death reported in Kerala
A 48-year-old man from Koyilandy, Kerala, died from amoebic meningoencephalitis, marking the fourth death linked to the infection this month. The Health department reported 14 cases of the infection in July, with 155 confirmed cases and 41 deaths since January 2026. Health officials are investigating the source of the infection while containment measures have been initiated in the affected area.
