Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced increased relief efforts as the death toll from recent floods rose to 75, with seven fatalities reported on Tuesday. The state government raised the ex gratia compensation for deceased families from ₹4 lakh to ₹9 lakh and relaxed compensation norms. Currently, 4.45 lakh people are affected, with 81 relief camps established, while the Army and other agencies continue rescue operations.
