Bangladesh raises fuel prices by up to 17%
Bangladesh raised fuel prices by up to 17.4% amid rising global crude oil costs, effective Monday. Diesel now costs 135 taka per litre, up from 115 taka, while octane gasoline increased to 165 taka from 145 taka. This move aims to reduce state-owned Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation's losses of 228.76 billion taka and alleviate inflationary pressures in the economy.
