Berlin Pride attack suspect shot dead
Police shot and killed Abdul Ballout, the suspect in the Berlin Pride attack that resulted in one death and 29 injuries, during a confrontation in a suburb on Sunday. Ballout, a German citizen of Lebanese descent, had previously attempted to join the Islamic State group and was released from juvenile detention just two months prior to the attack. Authorities confirmed he approached officers armed with a bladed weapon, prompting police to open fire, leading to his death at the scene despite resuscitation efforts.
