Billionaire club growing: More than 500 Indians earned over Rs 100 crore in FY25
The Ministry of Finance reported that the number of Indians earning over ₹100 crore in Assessment Year 2025-26 rose to 576, a 39% increase from the previous year. This figure represents a quadrupling of rupee billionaires since Assessment Year 2021-22, when there were only 142. The government is also conducting its first National Household Income Survey to better understand income distribution in India.
