BJP loses Bankipur, Datia bypolls: Did Gen Z protests reshape the political mood? Expert weighs in
Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor won the Bankipur bypoll, defeating BJP's Neeraj Kumar by 19,324 votes, marking Kishor's first electoral victory and a significant loss for the BJP. The bypoll was triggered by the resignation of BJP national president Nitin Nabin, who previously held the seat. In Datia, Congress retained the seat with Ghanshyam Singh defeating BJP's Ashutosh Tiwari by over 6,000 votes, following the disqualification of the former Congress MLA due to a court sentence.
