BMC clears removal of 126 trees for Powai SRA project; developer to provide 4,000 PAP homes
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Tree Authority approved the removal of 126 trees for a slum rehabilitation project in Powai, contingent on the developer providing over 4,000 free homes for project-affected persons. This decision follows a joint site survey that identified 144 trees, with 44 set to be felled and 82 transplanted. The developer, Bhawanishankar H Sharma, is committed to delivering these homes as part of a tripartite agreement with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority and the Slum Rehabilitation Authority.
