BMW reportedly puts its upcoming G-Class, Defender rival on ice
BMW has reportedly halted its luxury off-roader project, codenamed G74, due to a lack of final internal approval amid shifting global market conditions. The SUV was intended to compete with the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Land Rover Defender, but concerns over market size and investment have led to uncertainty about its production. CEO Milan Nedeljkovic indicated that BMW is reassessing its model portfolio and technologies in response to increasing competition and market pressures, particularly from Chinese manufacturers.
