Centre eyeing tougher rules for paper leaks: What India’s existing law to tackle exam fraud says
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the Union Cabinet will consider a proposed law to establish fast-track courts and impose harsher penalties for examination paper leaks. This move follows widespread student protests demanding accountability for recent leaks and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The Cabinet is expected to amend the existing Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, enacted in 2024, to enhance deterrents against organized examination fraud.
