Centre, states to work on widening GST base
The Centre and states agreed to collaborate on expanding the Goods and Services Tax (GST) base during the 57th GST Council Meeting. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that data analytics would assist in this effort, with potential changes to the return filing system and invoice matching to reduce leakages.
