Centre steps in with Rs 35/kg onion sale
The government began selling onions from its buffer stock at Rs 35 per kg in Delhi, offering a 44% discount from the market price of Rs 62. Consumer Affairs Secretary Nidhi Khare attributed rising prices to black marketing and hoarding but assured adequate supplies for the festive season. The initiative aims to control prices ahead of upcoming festivities.
