Civic body sets up tax camps as Panchkula property tax recovery lags
The Municipal Corporation of Panchkula launched Property Tax Facilitation and Rectification Camps to assist property owners in clearing dues before the August 31 deadline, following a shortfall in tax collections. Despite a previous offer of a 100% interest waiver for payments made by June 30, only ₹5.92 crore was recovered, prompting the extension of the scheme. Property owners can now receive a 75% interest waiver on pending arrears if dues are settled by the new deadline, with officials warning of potential recovery actions for non-compliance.
