Coal India profit jumps 57% as higher offtake, prices weigh over costs
Coal India reported a 57% year-on-year increase in net profit to ₹6,547 crore for the second quarter, attributed to a 12% rise in offtake to 186.34 million tonnes. The surge in profit was driven by higher prices that outweighed a 20% increase in input costs. The company declared a second interim dividend, reflecting its strong financial performance.
