CWG: Weightlifter Bindyarani Devi clinches Bronze
Indian weightlifter Bindyarani Devi secured a bronze medal in the women's 58kg category at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, marking her second podium finish at the event. The 27-year-old from Manipur lifted a total of 199kg, finishing behind Nigeria's Rafiatu Folashade Lawal, who set a Games record with 229kg, and Canada's Ann Sophie Taschereau, who lifted 215kg. Bindyarani's achievement is notable as she overcame a knee injury and weight category changes since her silver medal win in 2022.
