Delimitation Bill: Does NDA have the numbers to amend the Constitution as Monsoon Session begins from 20 July?
The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is working to secure the two-thirds majority needed to amend the Constitution during the upcoming Monsoon Session, starting July 20. The proposed Delimitation Bill aims to increase Lok Sabha seats from 543 to around 850 and implement a 33% reservation for women in the 2029 elections. The NDA's strength has risen from 298 to 329 MPs, but it still requires 33 more votes to reach the necessary threshold for passage.
