The World Health Organization announced that the first clinical trial of an Ebola vaccine will begin in the Democratic Republic of Congo by the end of October. This follows over 9,000 cases and 4,000 deaths in the current outbreak. The trial will assess the effectiveness of the Ervebo vaccine against the Bundibugyo strain, alongside other candidate vaccines.
