E100 green light: Centre clears nearly pure ethanol fuel for some vehicles
The Centre approved the use of E100, nearly pure ethanol, for flex fuel vehicles as the Road Transport Ministry amended the Central Motor Vehicles Rules. This change allows vehicles designed for E100 to operate with this fuel, while the weight limit for light petrol and diesel vehicles has increased from 3,000 kg to 3,500 kg. The new regulations are effective immediately.
