EPFO wage ceiling raised to Rs 25,000, widens social security net
The Union Cabinet approved an increase in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) wage ceiling to ₹25,000, effective Thursday. This revision, the first in 12 years, is expected to add over 51 lakh workers to mandatory EPFO coverage, enhancing social security for more than 8 crore employees. The monthly pension contribution will rise to ₹2,080 from ₹1,250.
