Floor price on PVC Suspension Resin aims to reduce import dependency, says commerce ministry
The Commerce and Industry Ministry announced a minimum import price (MIP) of $0.766 per kg on PVC Suspension Resin (S-PVC) to reduce India's reliance on imports. The ministry clarified that the MIP, effective from June 24, is not an import ban and allows imports at fair prices, particularly for export-oriented units. Domestic production capacity of 1,615 kilotonnes per annum falls short of the demand of 4,139 kilotonnes, prompting the need for this measure.
