Fresh PMAY-Gramin house approvals plunge sharply in Andhra Pradesh
New approvals for the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) in Andhra Pradesh plummeted sharply, with only 515 rural houses sanctioned over the last three financial years. The state received no new sanctions in 2021-22 and saw a drastic drop from 1.78 lakh houses in 2022-23 to just 11 in 2023-24. Despite the slowdown in approvals, construction of previously sanctioned houses continued, with 5,243 completed in 2025-26.
