Glucosamine, a popular joint supplement, linked to faster Alzheimer’s progression
Researchers at the University of Florida found that glucosamine use is linked to faster progression from mild cognitive impairment to dementia. The study analyzed health records of 4,646 patients and revealed that 8% reported using the supplement. The findings, published in Nature Metabolism, indicate a need for further clinical trials to confirm these preliminary results.
