Government starts retail sale of onions at Rs 35 per kg
The Indian government initiated retail sales of onions at ₹35 per kg from its buffer stock on Thursday. Sales will occur through mobile vans and stores operated by the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED) and the National Consumer Cooperative Federation of India Ltd (NCCF). This measure aims to stabilize prices amid festive demand and improve consumer access.
