‘Ground for independent probe’: Top court on police action on CJP protests
The Supreme Court of India mandated an independent investigation into police actions against protesters during recent demonstrations over paper leaks. The court requested responses from the Centre and seven state governments regarding allegations of excessive force and prohibited punitive actions against students without criminal records.
