GST Council to consider 17-day refund timeline
The GST Council will meet Thursday to discuss reducing the refund timeline to 17 days, including 10 days for acknowledgment and 7 for processing. Currently, acknowledgment can take 21-45 days, although 90% of refunds are processed quickly. The council will also consider automating GST registrations to expedite the process for businesses, particularly small sellers operating across states.
