Haryana short of 29 C&D waste collection centres, Gurugram accounts for over half the gap

Haryana lacks 29 secondary collection centres (SCCs) for construction and demolition (C&D) waste, with Gurugram alone accounting for 16 of these shortfalls. Only 23 of the mandated 52 SCCs across seven urban local bodies have been established, despite Gurugram generating 1,500 tonnes of C&D waste daily, nearly three-fourths of the total for the region. The state plans to complete the remaining SCCs by December 31 to enhance waste management and curb illegal dumping.
