Houthis target Aramco refinery, Saudi capital airport as Mecca defence pact activated
Yemen's Houthi rebels targeted Saudi Arabia's infrastructure with missile and drone attacks on airports and an Aramco refinery. In retaliation, Saudi-backed Yemeni forces escalated their offensive against the Houthis along the Red Sea coast. The conflict has led to the activation of a defense pact among Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Türkiye for a collective response.
