HT Exclusive: KRERA chief calls Bengaluru's tilted tower rebuild an 'unprecedented case'
Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority Chairman Rakesh Singh described the voluntary demolition of an 18-storey tilted residential tower in Bengaluru as an 'unprecedented case,' noting it is the first of its kind in India. Despite the project receiving an Occupancy Certificate, Singh indicated that the developer, SNN Raj Corp, may not need a fresh registration and could obtain a one-year extension under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act. The regulator emphasized that safeguarding homebuyers' interests remains the top priority amid the legal proceedings.
