IMF, OECD warn AI may widen global divide
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) warned that artificial intelligence (AI) could exacerbate the divide between rich and poor countries. They emphasized the need for improved access to power, digital infrastructure, and skills to prevent poorer nations from missing out on AI benefits. The IMF estimates AI could boost global growth by 0.5% annually if adopted effectively.
