India-New Zealand FTA ratified, will come into force on October 20
India and New Zealand ratified their Free Trade Agreement (FTA) on September 21, 2026, which will take effect on October 20. Under the agreement, New Zealand will eliminate all tariffs on goods imported from India, while India will reduce tariffs on 95% of its imports from New Zealand. This FTA aims to enhance bilateral trade significantly.
