India stocks up gas from spot markets as West Asia tensions flare
Indian refiners are increasingly sourcing liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) from spot markets amid rising tensions in West Asia affecting supply routes. The US has become a key supplier for LPG, while LNG is being procured from the US, Angola, Algeria, and Oman. This shift comes as India seeks to ensure gas availability, given its heavy reliance on West Asia for about 90% of its cooking gas imports.
