Invasive carp make up 90% of Mississippi River fish die-off
Hundreds of dead fish washed up along the Mississippi River in Missouri and Illinois. Wildlife officials reported that about 90% of the fish were invasive silver and bighead carp, which are less resilient to harsh conditions. This die-off may ultimately benefit the ecosystem by allowing native species to thrive better in the affected areas.
