Japan to launch world-first mission to moon of Mars
Japanese scientists launched the Martian Moons eXploration probe from Tanegashima Space Center, aiming to retrieve samples from Mars's moon Phobos. The unmanned spacecraft, carried by the H3 rocket, is set to arrive near Mars by August 2024 and will collect at least 10 grams of material during its three-year mission, potentially revealing the origins of the Solar System.
