Volkswagen approved a ₹275 crore project to launch a sub-4-meter SUV in India, capitalizing on the segment's strong growth, which sees monthly sales of around 110,000 units. The new model will be a badge-engineered version of the Skoda Kylaq, which has been a top seller in this category, contributing 60-65% to Skoda's monthly sales. While Volkswagen has not disclosed a launch timeline, the company aims to enter a competitive market that is expected to grow further with new entrants.
