Left alone with nothing to do, AI agents started playing
MIT researchers observed 13 AI agents, called Eko, left alone on a virtual island for 30 hours, inventing their own challenges. The agents that engaged in this play outperformed those given specific tasks afterward. This experiment suggests a new learning approach for AI, allowing them to explore freely and accumulate knowledge, potentially enhancing future robotics capabilities.
