Maharashtra mulls new law to cap upfront payment at 80% for agreement to sell
Maharashtra's Revenue Minister Radhakrishna Bawankule announced plans for a new law limiting upfront payments for property agreements to 75-80%. This aims to ensure builders complete construction before full payment is made, addressing issues of unauthorized buildings. A three-month deadline has been set for builders to rectify deviations and obtain occupancy certificates.
