MahaRERA rules developer can’t make homebuyer pay stamp duty after agreeing to bear it at the time of booking
The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority ruled that developers cannot pass stamp duty costs to homebuyers if they initially agreed to cover them. This decision came after a buyer, who paid over ₹1.50 crore for a plot, alleged the developer demanded these costs despite prior assurances. Developers must now comply with this ruling to avoid legal repercussions.
