Mamata faction of TMC faction gets football player poll symbol and new party name; rebel camp envelope
The Election Commission of India allocated new names and symbols to two factions of the Trinamool Congress ahead of the October 6 bypolls. Mamata Banerjee's faction will use the name 'Mamata All India Trinamool Congress' and the 'Football Player' symbol, while Arup Roy's faction will be known as 'Democratic Trinamool Congress' with the 'Envelope' symbol. This interim order prevents both groups from using the original party name and symbol until the leadership dispute is resolved.
