Markets open higher; Rupee rises 35 paise, now at 96.18 against US dollar

Indian equity markets opened higher on Monday, with the BSE Sensex rising 566 points to 76,608.66 and Nifty 50 increasing by 153.60 points to 23,923.30, following five sessions of losses. The rebound was supported by a 5% drop in Brent crude prices to USD 91.89 per barrel, attributed to a pause in US-Iran strikes and resumed shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. The Indian rupee also strengthened, gaining 35 paise to reach 96.18 against the US dollar in early trade.
