Maruti sees CNG moving beyond value buyers as demand spreads across segments
Maruti Suzuki reports that demand for factory-fitted CNG vehicles is expanding beyond traditional value-conscious buyers, now attracting customers in higher-priced segments. Senior Executive Officer Partho Banerjee noted that improvements in vehicle design and performance have made CNG a mainstream choice, with nearly 50% of demand for the Victoris midsize SUV now driven by its CNG variant. Maruti aims to sell 900,000 CNG vehicles in the current fiscal year to leverage this growing acceptance of CNG in India's passenger vehicle market.
