Meet Congress’s new Tamil Nadu face Manickam Tagore: Rahul Gandhi aide who bet big on Vijay
The Congress appointed Lok Sabha Whip B Manickam Tagore as the new president of the Tamil Nadu Congress, replacing K Selvaperunthagai. This change signals a consolidation of the Rahul-Venugopal camp and reflects a strategic shift following the party's break from the DMK and entry into Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam-led government. Tagore, a three-time MP, has been a vocal advocate for the Congress to pursue a more significant political role in Tamil Nadu.
