Meta, US states have discussed settling teen social media harm case
Meta Platforms discussed a potential mid-trial settlement with state attorneys general over a lawsuit alleging the company designed Facebook and Instagram to be addictive to teens. This trial, involving 29 states, addresses claims of harm to young users and violations of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. A resolution could emerge soon as press conferences are planned by several state attorneys general.
