Mobile phone retailers to protest against UPI MDR charges on October 2
The All India Mobile Retailers Association announced a protest on October 2 against new UPI Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) charges. Starting October 15, a 0.4% fee will apply to UPI transactions over ₹2,000, potentially costing small retailers ₹2,000 to ₹12,000 monthly. Retailers demand UPI payments remain zero MDR to avoid financial strain on their businesses.
