Nagpur civic body collects ₹100 crore in property tax in four months

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) collected ₹100.29 crore in property tax within the first four months of the 2026-27 financial year, driven by a last-minute rush to meet the July 31 payment deadline. This amount represents 13.4% of the NMC's annual property tax demand of ₹749.82 crore, with ₹72.75 crore from current demands and ₹27.54 crore from arrears. Officials anticipate further increases in collections as they enhance recovery efforts and reconcile payments made by the deadline.
