NGT directs Chennai civic body to ensure strict adherence by builders to construction waste rules
The National Green Tribunal ordered the Greater Chennai Corporation to enforce construction waste management rules, ensuring uninterrupted processing of waste. The tribunal highlighted that facilities in Kodungaiyur and Perungudi stopped operations in 2024 and mandated compliance for building-plan approvals. The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board must also monitor waste management across the state.
