Nitin Gadkari can sue Meta, X over AI deepfakes on E20 rules: Bombay High Court
The Bombay High Court ruled that Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari can sue Meta Platforms and X Corp over allegedly defamatory AI-generated deepfake videos related to ethanol-blended fuel. Gadkari claims the content falsely links him to the Ethanol Blended Petrol programme and the E20 initiative, which are managed by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The court will later hear his request for interim relief, including a temporary injunction against the content.
