No call yet on hiking ethanol blending in petrol, no plan to also sell lower blends: Centre
The Indian government announced that no decision has been made to increase ethanol blending in petrol beyond the current 20%, with future considerations pending detailed studies and stakeholder consultations. Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi stated that there are also no plans to offer lower ethanol blends or pure petrol at fuel stations. India achieved the 20% blending target last year, five years ahead of schedule, with E20 fuel now being the standard variant nationwide.
